Wouldn't it be nice to have a home away from home? Especially a comfortably appointed one located on a crystal clear, tranquil lake and just minutes from great skiing?

And you know, there's no place like Maine and no better spot for you, your friends or family than The Maine Houses. As Down East magazine reports, "The Maine House is operated as a self-service inn. It works like a hostel-albeit a deluxe one-or an inn with no innkeeper."

Our houses are unique. Each house has a kitchen any chef would love and flexible sleeping accommodations from private suites to bunk rooms making the houses perfect for groups from 4 to 94.

Our Maine Houses are ideal for ski and sports clubs, family reunions and vacations, receptions, weddings and company outings... in fact, any kind of group ready for the perfect getaway.

The Maine Houses are licensed by the State of Maine, Department of Health and Human Services. This agency monitors our water quality and an array of other issues associated with lodging services. The Maine State Tax Bureau also licenses us. We are part of a lakes and mountains region reservations network that includes the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce, Oxford Chamber of Commerce, the Sunday River Ski Resort and Mt. Abrams Family Ski area all of which use our facilities for "group" bookings. In addition, we are also members of the Maine Innkeepers Association and Maine Tourism Association.
